Katia Chaban
In 2022, she earned a Doctorate in Business Administration with a specialization in Strategy and Innovation, focusing on sustainable business innovation. Her research on the circular economy was published in the Business Management Research and Application Journal in June 2023. In addition to her DBA and Master of Science degree, Dr. Chaban holds multiple sustainability certifications from the University of Cambridge and Cornell University, is a GRI Certified Sustainability Professional, and a LEED Green Associate.
Dr. Chaban’s leadership and impact have been widely recognized with numerous speaking engagements at 2023 ESG World Summit and GRIT Awards in Bangkok, the 2025 World Economic Forum in Davos, 2025 London and NYC Climate Weeks to provide awareness about Sustainable IT. She was honored by the U.S. House of Representatives and the Dallas Business Journal as a Woman in Technology in 2019, named a Woman of Distinction by Assemblyman Harry Bronson in 2024, and was a finalist for the Tech Rochester Technology Woman of the Year award in 2025. Most recently, she was honored with a Global 50 Women in Sustainability award.
Currently, Dr. Chaban serves as Head of the Global IT Sustainability Center of Expertise at NTT DATA, Inc., where she leads the development and execution of sustainable IT strategies across enterprise technologies supporting more than 150,000 employees worldwide. Her work focuses on reducing IT’s environmental footprint, architecting sustainability technology standards, and advancing innovative Sustainable IT solutions and services. Guided by a vision rooted in purpose and progress, Dr. Chaban champions the integration of technology and sustainability to shape a more resilient and sustainable future.
