Kendra Tupper
Currently The Head of Carbon Reduction Planning & Strategy at Google, she is responsible for delivering on NetZero and carbon reduction ambitions. Her focus includes strategy, portfolio planning, budgeting and financing, emissions forecasting and tooling solutions, and catalyzing new decarbonization solutions.
Prior to Google, Kendra served as the Chief Sustainability Officer for the City of Boulder, developing and passing leading edge climate policy while advocating for necessary changes at the state, PUC and federal level. A licensed mechanical engineer, Kendra started her career with WSP Group, designing energy efficient mechanical systems for large commercial buildings. She went on to start their first in house Energy and Sustainability team and scaled this across their U.S. offices. Kendra then went on to join Rocky Mountain Institute for 7 years, leading the Buildings and Industrial Practice teams.
Kendra has a B.E in Mechanical Engineering from Dartmouth College and a Master’s in Civil, Environmental, and Architecture Engineering from the University of Colorado – Boulder.
Her experiences having worked in the private, nonprofit and government sectors have shaped her belief that a combination of innovation, business value, and policy are needed to catalyze global decarbonization at the speed and scale required.
