Lindsey Peavey Reeves

Senior Scientist and Sanctuary Soundscape Monitoring Program Manager
National Marine Sanctuary Foundation
Dr. Lindsey Peavey Reeves leads a diverse and dynamic team of partners working to continuously monitor the symphony of ocean sounds — from the calls of migrating whales to the hum of human activity — across a vast network of over 30 underwater listening stations in and around U.S. federal marine protected areas. Innovative collaborations among scientists, industry leaders, and resource managers are promoting healthier, more resilient ocean ecosystems, by simply listening. To support management and conservation efforts, summaries of entire soundscapes, and seasonal patterns of various individual sound sources like chorusing fish and vessel traffic, are reported at SoundscapeMonitoring.us.
