Lucy Mullany joined Eureka Recycling in 2022 as the Director of Policy & Advocacy. She played a key role in the passage of Minnesota’s Packaging Waste & Cost Reduction Act, the state’s Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for paper and packaging law. She has also supported the successful campaigns for Right to Repair legislation and spearheaded the launch of the Minnesota Zero Waste Coalition. In addition to her work at Eureka, Lucy serves as the National Policy Director for the Alliance of Mission-Based Recyclers (AMBR), advocating for state and federal policies supporting recycling systems that keep resources in the ground. Before joining Eureka, Lucy was a leading advocate for economic justice and financial security at the federal level and in Illinois. She played a key role in passing landmark policies, including the nation’s first automatic retirement savings program for low-wage workers and consumer protections against predatory lending practices. She lives in Minneapolis, MN with her husband, two kids, two cats, and dog.
