Mackay Miller is a Partner at ERM, specializing in energy strategy for utility, financial, and manufacturing clients. Mackay leads ERMs practice at the nexus of energy and data centers. He brings more than 15 years of experience in energy and specializes in challenges at the intersection of technology, finance, policy, and corporate strategy. He has published more than 20 articles on topics of energy security, renewable energy integration, and innovation.
Prior to joining ERM, Mackay was Acting VP of the corporate strategy team at National Grid US, leading long-range scenario planning with a focus on low carbon futures. From 2009-2015 he worked at the US Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory, where he focused on smart grids, power sector policy, and wholesale market reform through international engagements with China, India, South Africa, Mexico, and Denmark. He holds an MBA from the University of Colorado – Boulder and a Bachelor of International Relations from Brown University.
