Dr. Marty Lail leads the Decarbonization Sciences group at RTI International where he progressed from Research Chemist to Senior Director over the past 15 years. Dr. Lail received his PhD in Chemistry from North Carolina State University and completed post-doc positions at UC-Berkeley and US-EPA before joining RTI and focusing on carbon dioxide separation and conversion technologies. He was lead inventor on an advanced solvent technology for CO2 capture which was licensed in 2022 after a decade of progression through development and demonstration projects funded by the Department of Energy and collaborative industry partners. Dr. Lail has been awarded over 30 U.S. Patents during his career with RTI in the areas of carbon capture, carbon conversion, and catalysis.
