Dr. Micah Elias is the Director of Natural Capital at Blue Forest where he leads the development of the tools and strategies to value and monetize the benefits of forest restoration. His work spans the multiple benefits of healthy forests – including wildfire risk reduction to assets, water security, and biodiversity – but focuses primarily on carbon and biomass utilization. He earned his PhD from UC Berkeley focusing on the interactions between forest management, wildfire, biomass utilization, carbon markets, and private investment.
