With a degree in Metallurgical Engineering and a MBA in Project Management and a career spanning Brazil, Canada, and the U.S., Rafael led sustainability initiatives focused on science-based emissions reduction and low-carbon product development throughout multiple product lines in within Gerdau.

Rafael’s work includes implementing decarbonization strategies aligned with international climate targets and integrating sustainable practices across the steel value chain from production to customer delivery. With expertise in both the technical and market sides of the business, he brings a holistic perspective to achieving measurable environmental impact.
