Ruth Checknoff is the Project and Research Director for the Renewable Thermal Collaborative (RTC), a global coalition of companies, institutions, and governments committed to scaling renewable heating and cooling to dramatically cut carbon emissions. In this role, Ruth leads technology, market, and policy initiatives to break down barriers to renewable thermal energy deployment. Before joining the RTC, Ruth was the Policy Manager at Last Energy, where she led policy development and local community engagement to accelerate the deployment of nuclear energy to power industrial decarbonization. Ruth has a Master of Public Policy and B.A. in Environmental Sciences and Psychology from the University of Virginia.
