Safaa Skander

As Senior Manager of Market Development, Safaa advances GBI’s mission by promoting sustainable building practices and cultivating meaningful partnerships across the industry. She represents GBI at national conferences through speaking engagements, presentations, and exhibit management, while also identifying new opportunities for sponsorship and thought leadership to expand the organization’s visibility and impact.

Safaa brings a diverse background that includes supporting food banks and community programs, as well as experience in the construction industry and local governments, where she focused on waste reduction and compliance with state and federal environmental regulations.

A California native, Safaa is passionate about people, community engagement, and driving sustainable solutions that make a lasting impact. Outside of work, she enjoys surfing, snowboarding, and traveling to experience new cultures and languages.

Safaa holds a degree in Environmental Science with a focus on architecture and green building, and currently resides in California.
