Shantanu Agarwal

Shantanu Agarwal is the Founder and CEO of Mati Carbon, a pioneering climate-tech company leveraging Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW) for carbon removal and agricultural resilience. A two-time climate-tech entrepreneur, Shantanu holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from IIT and an MBA from Harvard. He previously co-founded Sustaera, a Direct Air Capture company, and has over two decades of experience across energy entrepreneurship, climate policy, and social impact. Through Mati, Shantanu is focused on scaling carbon removal while empowering smallholder farmers across the Global South, combining scientific rigor with scalable technology and on-ground partnerships.
