My name is Upingaksraq (the time when the ice breaks). Owner/CEO Principal Ecologist-Native Agriculturalist of Sakari Farms. I am Inupiaq an enrolled member and shareholder of the Chugach Alaska Native Corporation and Valdez Native Tribe. Accomplishments include: 2019 NASDA Women Farm to Food Award, 2021 Na’ahlee Tribal Fellowship, 2022 Ecotrust Indigenous Leadership Award, 2023 Central Oregon Environmental Center Sustainability Award,creator of 2023 PNW Tribal Agricultural Guide, and producer of “RefIection of Life” native film. I also participate.contribute to the IAC, Export Food Program, ISKN , PNW Food Sovereignty Coalition, many other regional policy based boards and committees.
