Steve McManus

Mr. McManus is an experienced technology commercialization professional. At RTI, Mr. McManus manages business development for the RTI Pilot Xcelerator, a contract laboratory and pilot demonstration facility for low-carbon chemical process innovations. Before taking on this role, Mr. McManus led manufacturing and energy sector business development for the Innovation Advisors group, including work directly with the US Department of Energy to support commercialization of clean energy and decarbonization technologies in collaboration with the Pilot Xcelerator. Mr. McManus also managed engagement with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) Centers across the US by providing technology and market intelligence consulting services to manufacturing startups and established small- and medium-size firms. Prior to RTI, Mr. McManus held business development roles with BP Amoco Fabrics and Fibers and LORD Corporation, establishing markets and applications for new material innovations.

Mr. McManus has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Science in Management degree with a concentration in technology commercialization, both from North Carolina State University.
