Suz Okie works at the intersection of circularity and strategy. As a trusted voice in the circular economy space, she holds strong connections across the circular and sustainability ecosystem and possesses a landscape view of its stakeholders and solutions. As a strategist, she leverages innovative frameworks including design thinking, human-centered design, and systems mapping to deliver value, insights, innovation and impact. At her own consultancy, she unites design frameworks, business innovation, and circular strategy for a variety of clients including the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, World Wildlife Fund, Closed Loop Partners, PR3, and many more.
She was formerly the Director of Design Strategy and Circular Economy at GreenBiz Group (now Trellis) where she designed and managed the program content for Circularity — the largest convening of sustainability professionals dedicated to the circular economy — and co-wrote Circularity Weekly, an industry-leading newsletter on all things circular. She holds an MBA in Design Strategy and is co-founder and co-lead of Reuse Portland, a volunteer coalition of local businesses, environmental nonprofits, and community leaders in Portland, Maine who are working to build a robust, integrated, and convenient reuse ecosystem in the Greater Portland area.
