
Tracy Bain
As VP, Head of Monitoring & Engagement, Tracy is a trusted leader with over 15 years of experience across nonprofit, corporate, research, and philanthropy sectors. She is the driving force behind Catona Climate’s Carbon Monitoring & Engagement team, while crafting a holistic strategy for tracking the impact of carbon-reduction projects and actively involving stakeholders. Her mission is to empower people and organizations to take ownership of climate solutions that benefit their communities’ wellbeing and the health of the planet.
As IFAW’s former Director of Strategic Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning, Tracy established the inaugural department, overseeing an international staff that supported country programs and field teams. Her pivotal contributions included shaping IFAW’s institutional and programmatic strategic plans, launching the annual impact report, managing grant-funded project evaluations, and leading the roll out of monitoring systems across the organization. Her early career began as a wildlife biologist that led to roles implementing wildlife and habitat conservation and restoration programs across the globe. With extensive experience in international development, environmental science and program design, she brings a wealth of expertise to Catona’s Carbon Program. Tracy holds a M.S. in Conservation Biology from Sonoma State University and a B.S. in Wildlife Biology from Ohio University.
