Uma Patwardhan

As Vice President and North America Sustainable Buildings Team Lead for JLL’s Sustainability Consulting, Uma Patwardhan leverages nearly 20 years of industry experience and a background in architecture to shape the future of sustainable real estate. Her expertise lies in developing comprehensive strategies that align occupier and investor real estate portfolios with their organizational ESG goals.

Uma is also a leader in implementing third-party green building certifications, including LEED, WELL, WELL HSR, Fitwel, and the Living Building Challenge. Her dedication to sustainability is demonstrated by her successful management of over 75 certification projects for new construction and renovations, totaling more than 10 million square feet.

Beyond her project work, Uma extends her impact through active industry involvement. She has served on advisory boards including the Living Future (LF) Organizational Equity Advisory Board (2023-2024) and the Greenbuild Advisory Board (2023) and regularly contributes through speaking engagements. Based in Pittsburgh, she is passionate about mentoring the next generation of leaders committed to transforming the built environment through sustainability and resilience.
