Amazon is committed to building a more sustainable business for our customers and the planet. We are actively reducing emissions to reach net zero carbon by 2040 as part of our commitment to the Climate Pledge, which we co-founded and became the first signatory in 2019. Today, the Climate Pledge has more than 550 signatories who share data and solutions about their path to net zero. We achieved our renewable energy goal to match all of the electricity consumed across our operations – including our data centers, corporate buildings, grocery stores and fulfillment centers – with 100% renewable energy, seven years ahead of our original 2030 timeline. We continue to be the largest corporate buyer of renewable energy. We constantly work to eliminate waste across our business, including in our operations and customer waste, like packaging and retired products. We aim to avoid waste through innovation, design, and operational efficiencies. We also offer programs to enable our customers to repair, resell, recycle, and repurpose their products. Customers continue to show us that they want more sustainable products. So, in 2020, we launched the Climate Pledge Friendly program to help Amazon customers discover and shop more sustainable products. Amazon makes it easy to discover and shop for over 2.2M products with sustainability features. Customers can look for the leaf to discover more sustainable products and their sustainability features across Amazon stores.
