The mission of the American Forest Foundation is to deliver meaningful conservation impact through the empowerment of family forest owners. We believe America’s family-owned forests are vital in combating climate change—and we’ve only just begun to unlock their potential.

Together with our partner The Nature Conservancy, we developed the Family Forest Carbon Program, a new approach to forest carbon projects in the Voluntary Carbon Market. The Family Forest Carbon Program empowers forest owners to address climate change while earning income from their land and offers companies, who are working to neutralize their residual emissions, high-integrity, third-party verified carbon credits.
