Working on behalf of the American public, the NFF leads forest conservation efforts and promotes responsible recreation. National Forests & Grasslands are the foundation of America’s outdoor recreation heritage and sustain our way of life. They provide water to millions of Americans, clean our air, store carbon, and provide timber, minerals, oil, gas, and other resources for industry and communities. Chartered by Congress, the NFF was created with a simple mission: bring people together to restore and enhance our National Forests and Grasslands.
