Volvo’s heavy-duty electric trucks have traveled almost 50 million miles delivering loads for customers like Amazon and PepsiCo since hitting the road in 2019. In 2023, Volvo represented 44 percent of all electric trucks sold in the U.S. These vehicles, along with models that run on hydrogen-fuel cells, green hydrogen and biogas, are central to Volvo’s goal to deliver 100 percent fossil fuels-free vehicles by 2040. Delivering on this pledge will require close partnerships with many stakeholders, including policymakers, competitors and customers. 

Trellis Editor-at-Large Heather Clancy will discuss that partnership ecosystem and more with Volvo Group Chief Sustainability Officer Karin Svensson, a 25-year industry veteran, on the next episode of Climate Pioneers, a live interview series that features innovators working to mitigate the climate crisis.
