Blair Bateson

Blair Bateson leads the Ceres Company Network’s engagement with the banking and energy sectors. He also coordinates Ceres’ overall banking strategy, in partnership with the Ceres Accelerator for Sustainable Capital Markets. He authors Ceres’ banking reports, which show how banks can better integrate climate change into their strategy, risk management, governance, and disclosure, in line with the Ceres Roadmap for Sustainability. Prior to joining Ceres in 2018, Blair worked in climate change policy research at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, analyzing the efficacy of national climate policies. He has also worked in finance, strategic planning, and investor relations roles in the energy sector, where he was responsible for economic analysis, benchmarking, and the development and communication of company strategy. Blair holds an M.A. in Comparative International Studies from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich and a B.Com. in Finance and International Business from McGill University in Montreal. Blair is a CFA charterholder.
