Cory Nestor is currently at Yale’s School of Forestry and Environmental Studies pursing his Masters in Environmental Management. Focusing on the intersection of the built environment and the natural world, he is using tools such as life cycle assessment, input/output modeling and other industrial ecology tools to assess the environmental performance of the building sector. Along with financial strategies, such as environmental profit and loss, Cory is looking to extend the current value proposition of the green building sector beyond benefits from a solely prescriptive path studying strategies needed to adopt a more holistic, systems model. As part of this effort, Cory joined Terrapin this past summer to explore more human centric strategies such as healthcare costing and improved occupant wellbeing in order to expand the dialogue around sustainable buildings.
