Daan Wensing

Since 2020, Daan Wensing is chief executive officer and chair of the executive board of IDH — The Sustainable Trade Initiative. Previously, he was director of global landscapes, soy, palm oil and tropical timber for IDH, overseeing 15 landscapes in eight countries and directing the implementation of the commodity programs on soy, palm oil and tropical timber. Prior to joining IDH, Wensing was managing director of the Leaders for Nature network and head of IUCN NL’s business and biodiversity programs. Before joining IUCN NL, he co-founded the company Triple E and was the director of one of its business units, developing business models for biodiversity and ecosystems. Wensing has a master's degree in biology from Utrecht University and a master’s in science and business from Utrecht University in cooperation with the Netherlands Business University Nyenrode.
