Don McDonnell
Don McDonnell is the managing director of The McDonnell Group. Don provides executive strategic advisory and proprietary research services to retained clients. His work spans a wide range of smart grid initiatives, and he is a frequent public speaker and contributor to national smart grid forums, policy working groups, and trade associations and journals. As co-founder and managing director of The McDonnell Group, Don also guides daily operations and business development for the company. Don brings two decades of technology management experience to his role at The McDonnell Group. He has built technology companies in the energy and enterprise software sectors, including work in nuclear, T&D asset management, outage and network management, energy trading and risk management, SCADA and advanced metering related companies. Don earned a B.A. and an M.B.A. and received extensive training in engineering, communications and intelligence serving as a lieutenant in the United States Navy. Don is a member of the IEEE PES.
