Dr. Freedom-Kai Phillips

Dr. Freedom-Kai Phillips, PhD (Cambridge), LLM (Ottawa), LLB (Dalhousie), MA (Seton Hall), BSc honors (E. Michigan), is Director of the Deloitte Center for Sustainable Progress (DCSP). In addition, Dr. Phillips is a Legal Research Fellow with the Centre for International Sustainable Development Law, and a member of the IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law. With over two decades of experience in intergovernmental, multilateral and think-tank environments, Dr. Phillips brings deep specialist knowledge in international law, market mechanisms, ocean and nature-climate interfaces, carbon offsetting and renewable energy promotion, and legal measures to support achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
