Drummond Lawson

Drummond Lawson is the green giant (aka the director of sustainablity) at Method, a leading innovator of sustainable cleaning products. An environmental chemist by training, Drummond's role at with Method involves combining material science and green product innovations with user-centered product design. He also coordinates Method’s supply chain sustainability program, engaging their supplier base to develop zero waste manufacturing practices. Drummond studied chemistry and environmental science at University of Calgary, sustainable energy systems at University of Oslo, Norway, and completed a master’s degree in environmental chemistry at the University of Savoie, France. His professional background is in green product development, material science and industrial environmental technology research and development, including a period working at EPEA’s Hamburg office with Cradle-to-Cradle co-author Michael Braungart. Drummond has a passion for the interface of chemistry and natural environments and spent five summers planting some 400,000 trees in the forests of western Canada. He was selected to the inaugural 2009 class of the Aspen Institute’s "First Movers" social innovation fellowship.
