Graham Sinclair

Graham Sinclair is an independent sustainable investment strategist, professor, and host of the investor long-form interview podcast, “ESG and Coffee.” His career began in retirement funds, moved to institutional at SEI Investments, and has specialized in sustainable investment since 2004, most recently as senior strategist at a US headquartered passive fund manager with US$341bn AuM, where he led portfolio company engagements in the mining and food & beverage sectors. His complex project management has included co-designing the world-first ESG guidelines for pension funds investments made law in the South Africa Pension Funds Act of 2012, and co-designing the Access To Nutrition Index (2008-2013). Graham’s most recent academic contribution was to “Research Handbook of Finance and Sustainability” (Edward Elgar, 2018) and he teaches on making the sustainable investment case at Villanova and Harvard. His TEDx "Investing As If The Future Matters" was ranked top 5 in ESG by the CFA Institute. Graham was selected to the inaugural cohort of the WWF One Planet Leaders Programme in Switzerland, holds an M.B.A. from Villanova School of Business and an LL.B. from the University of Natal. On any day he would rather be gravel cycling a mountain pass.
