Marty Spitzer

Since joining WWF in 2011, Marty has led efforts mobilizing business and cities to tackle climate change and build a clean energy economy. He championed the Renewable Energy Buyers Alliance and Principles and mobilizes business and cities for strong climate action and policy. He has been instrumental in building and launching “We Are Still In”, a movement of over 2600 businesses, mayors, governors, higher education and faith leaders supporting the Paris agreement. He also co-led development of the “The 3% Solution”, and “Power Forward” series, which built the business case for science-based GHG reduction targets and tracks corporate progress.  He has over 25 years of experience collaborating with businesses, NGOs and governments to drive sustainable business solutions. He previously served on the Science Committee in U.S. House of Representatives, as Executive Director of the President’s Council on Sustainable Development at the White House, and in various senior staff positions at the USEPA.  Marty has a JD/PhD from the University of Buffalo and B.A. in Economics/History from Binghamton University.
