Michael Kramer

Michael Kramer is a managing partner and director of Social Research at Natural Investments, a sustainable and responsible investment adviser since 1985 that was selected by B Lab in 2012 as "Best for the World" in a list of small U.S. businesses creating the most overall positive social and environmental impact. An accredited investment fiduciary and a sustainability educator and speaker for more than 20 years, Michael coined the term "regenerative investing," as noted in the Worldwatch Institute’s State of the World 2008. He is involved in shareholder advocacy and public policy initiatives on behalf of his firm and oversees the NI Heart Rating, the SRI industry’s leading environmental, social and governance rating system of U.S. SRI mutual funds.Michael serves on the steering committee of the American Sustainable Business Council and the advocacy and public policy committee of USSIF: The Forum for Sustainable and Responsible Investment. Michael serves on the boards of the Sustainability Association of Hawaii and the Hawaii Alliance for a Local Economy. He founded the Kuleana Green Business Program in 2005, is a former executive director of Permaculture Drylands Institute and founded Youth Ecology Corps in 1990. He served as a National Service fellow during the Clinton administration.
