Sonal Dalal

Sonal Pandya Dalal is the Director of the Business & Sustainability Council at Conservation International's Center for Environmental Leadership in Business, which engages with corporations to minimize environmental impacts and to harness private sector ingenuity on behalf of healthy ecosystems and human well-being. Sonal also helped to build CI’s Forest Carbon program, working to design and develop a portfolio of multiple benefit projects that offset emissions of carbon dioxide through the restoration and protection of threatened forest ecosystems of high biodiversity value, and promote human well-being through employment and alternative incomes. Sonal serves as a subject matter expert and advisory board member for several key groups, including the Climate, Community and Biodiversity Alliance, the GHG Protocol Initiative and California Climate Registry. Previously, Sonal worked with The Nature Conservancy, negotiating with policymakers in the United States and European Union to promote equitable climate policies. She is fluent in Spanish and Gujarati, an Indian dialect.
