Nike promotes manufacturing exec to lead sustainability

Nike is filling its vacant chief sustainability officer post from within, tapping Cimarron Nix, a nine-year veteran of the footwear company’s sourcing and manufacturing operation currently based in Singapore. 

The well-respected Nix will report to Chief Operating Officer Venkatesh Alagirisamy, who announced her appointment in an internal email shared with Trellis.

“She and her team will continue to deliver measurable progress toward our sustainability targets while helping shape the vision and priorities for our extended team of sustainability experts embedded across the enterprise,” Alagirisamy wrote.

Nix, whose appointment is effective March 15, will be moving to Nike’s headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon. She replaces Jaycee Pribulsky, who left Nike in September 2025 after just 19 months to become partner and CSO at private equity firm Apollo Management Group.

Nix comes from the same organizational roots as her predecessor, moving up the ranks with roles in sustainable sourcing and manufacturing, as well as health and safety. Before joining Nike, she spent several years working on supply chain responsibility for tech company HP.  Previous roles included stints at J. Crew, Level 3 Communications and Citigroup.

Nike pared its sustainability team in 2024 as part of a broader financial turnaround. The company was on pace to meet its operational emissions reduction goals for fiscal year 2025, according to its 2024 impact report. However, progress on initiatives related to reducing freshwater consumption in production and for increased recycling and refurbishment of product waste was not on track.
