Sticking with SBTI?
One member asks, “Are members still pursuing SBTi and SBTi validation for targets? As SBTi continues to fine-tune the next Corporate Net-Zero Standard we are finding it is becoming less business friendly and more complex. Simultaneously, we are aware that many large companies are moving away from the SBTi framework and opting to set internal science-based targets. Is SBTi still the gold standard or are others considering other frameworks like ISO? Would deeply appreciate it if any members are willing to share their experience particularly if they have moved away from SBTi.” Read More

Datamaran and Other Data-driven Platforms
One member asks, "We are leading a materiality assessment next year. We are not hit by the CSRD so are not required to do a fully-compliant CSRD double materiality assessment but I do plan on doing a "double materiality light" assessment (as we did last time in 2023 with a big four firm leading). Does anyone have recommendations for data-driven platforms? I have heard positive views of Datamaran but wondered what experience you have had with them and/or other data-driven tools/methodologies." Double Materiality Quandary
One member asks, “We are about mid-way through our first double materiality assessment and are struggling with the process and the thought of having to do this every year. I believe that the results will be insightful but the process seems so convoluted. We are using a consulting partner, but have not been impressed with their processes, materials, or guidance and are considering developing our own methods in the future. Do members have any resources, consultant recommendations, or tech solutions that they can share? Have there been any positive experiences or learnings with double materiality that anyone would be willing to share?” Read More
