About the session

What’s covered

New ironmaking technologies and cross-sector collaboration are unlocking pathways to cut emissions from one of the world’s most carbon-intensive materials.

Steel is foundational to modern society—and a major contributor to global emissions. As new ironmaking technologies emerge to reduce the carbon intensity of steel production, momentum is building across startups, academia, and industrial incumbents. This session will explore how leading actors are moving from pilots toward full-scale commercialization, and examine what’s required to align demand, capital, and policy in order to unlock a net-zero steel supply chain.
