Behzad Torabifar

Behzad Torabifar is the Executive Director and Head of Site Services Sustainability at Genentech, where he leads sustainability strategy and operations across one of Roche’s largest global campuses in South San Francisco. He oversees initiatives spanning energy, carbon, water, circularity, sustainable science, biodiversity, health & wellness, sustainable built environment, and climate resilience.

With more than a decade of leadership experience across Genentech and Roche in the U.S. and globally, Behzad has led transformative programs in renewable energy procurement, campus decarbonization, sustainable operations, and water stewardship. Under his leadership, Genentech’s South San Francisco campus achieved 100% bundled sustainable electricity and reduced its total environmental footprint by more than 60% over five years.

Behzad is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.), Project Management Professional (PMP), and Certified Energy Manager (CEM). He holds advanced engineering degrees and a Master’s degree in Sustainability Management from Columbia University.
