Mary Jo Snavely

Director, Private Sector Engagement
World Wildlife Fund
Mary Jo Snavely is a Director, Plastics and Material Science, within World Wildlife Fund’s (WWF) Private Sector Engagement Team, where she leads collaborations with the world’s most influential corporate brands to drive lasting and positive environmental impact. She currently serves as the corporate engagement lead for WWF’s Plastic and Material Science team.

Since joining WWF in 2015, Mary Jo has worked closely with leading global retail, packaging, and food & beverage corporations to set goals and implement strategic plans that support conservation. In addition, Mary Jo advised on internal initiatives including nature-related target setting, finance sector engagement, and corporate due diligence.

Prior to joining WWF, Mary Jo was part of the team at San Francisco-based, GoodGuide.com that built its research database and ratings methodology for everyday consumer products. More recently, she was the primary subject matter expert on sustainability for the Army National Guard.

Mary Jo received her B.A. in Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and M.S. in Sustainability Management from American University’s Kogod School of Business, where she now sits on the business school’s Sustainability Council.
