Note: This is a press release about the GreenBiz Group’s relationship with the Clean Energy Buyers Association.

The Clean Energy Buyers Association (CEBA) announced today it will partner with GreenBiz Group’s VERGE 22 event and expo to create a single event designed to accelerate the transition to clean energy. This year’s VERGE event will be held in the San Jose Convention Center, October 25-27.

CEBA, in its previous formation as the Renewable Energy Buyers Alliance, has held its fall member convening at VERGE since 2017 (save for 2021 due to the pandemic). Until now, the two events were adjacent but separate. This year will be the first time the CEBA event will be fully incorporated into the VERGE Energy program, giving CEBA members access to the cross-cutting VERGE content and VERGE attendees access to CEBA’s in-depth sessions.

“We are excited to take our partnership with CEBA to the next level,” said Eric Faurot, CEO of GreenBiz Group. “Uniting the CEBA and VERGE events will provide an unparalleled opportunity for renewable energy buyers and key stakeholders to explore solutions and foster cross-sector collaborations to address barriers to progress. This is what’s needed to create clean, resilient energy systems amid the growing disruptions in a warming world.”

CEBA — a business association that activates a community of energy customers and partners to deploy market and policy solutions for a carbon-free energy system — brings together stakeholders from across the commercial and industrial sector, non-profit organizations, as well as energy providers and service providers.

“Members of our community value opportunities to convene and collaborate in innovative ways to advance clean energy toward our new bold aspiration of achieving a 90 percent carbon-free U.S. electricity system and cultivating a global community of energy customers,” said Miranda Ballentine, CEO of the CEBA. “We have partnered with GreenBiz since 2017 to ensure that we accelerate solutions and engage key cross-sector audiences, and look forward to co-locating our Fall Forum again.”

CEBA Connect is a key mechanism reinforcing CEBA’s overarching theory of change that energy customers have a critical role in positively influencing the evolution of the energy market. CEBA’s event will focus on key market transformations, including unlocking markets for energy customers to accelerate decarbonization; catalyze the rapid deployment of clean energy; and decarbonize the grid for all.

The two events and their audiences complement each other. CEBA, a membership association, representing energy customers and their partners, brings more than 400+ attendees spanning the C&I sector, including Google, General Motors, and Microsoft. VERGE 22, the climate tech event, convenes thousands of leaders — from the private and public sectors, utilities, solution providers, NGOs and startups — from key markets including clean energy, sustainable mobility, carbon removal and regenerative food systems.

Participation in CEBA Connect is by invitation only for CEBA members and partners, including renewable energy customers, service providers, and developers. CEBA members will receive an invitation and others may request an invitation by emailing: membership@cebuyers.org.
