Joshua Sbicca

Joshua Sbicca's research focuses on the sociological drivers and outcomes of contentious food politics. He studies the tensions and opportunities in food system change efforts amid the pressures of racial, class and environmental inequalities. Underlying these interests is an ongoing engagement with the practice of food justice and what this means for building broad based social movements.While food is his focus, he also addresses sociological questions around social change, political economy, urban development, race and class relations, human/nature relations and power.
