Minimizing the impacts of global temperature rise will require rapid emission reductions alongside permanently removing from the atmosphere and storing billions of CO2 every year by 2050. But most carbon removal providers are operating at or below kilotonne scale today. This year, dozens of new, first-of-their-kind CDR projects have started to operate, putting the efficacy of new CDR solutions to the test, and helping us understand the technical and operational hurdles that we must overcome to scale the industry.
