Midea showcases innovations and expands in North America

Midea Group’s multiple business units recently participated in the 2025 AHR Expo in the United States, showcasing their latest technological breakthroughs and comprehensive solutions in HVAC, core components, water heaters and more.

This exhibition not only highlighted Midea Group’s technological progess but also marked another significant step in its “global breakthrough” strategy. Midea Industrial Technology announced that its new R&D center in Dallas will officially commence operations in the third quarter of 2025. This move will further strengthen localized R&D and service capabilities in the North American market, driving product innovation and technological advancements.

At the expo, Midea Air Conditioning unveiled its latest all-climate heat pump solutions, which have received the first-ever “Tick Mark Excellence Performance Certification” from the international certification body Intertek. This certification sets a benchmark for commercially viable heat pump solutions. Midea’s all-climate heat pumps are designed to maintain high efficiency in extreme temperatures, significantly improving the installation convenience of traditional central duct systems while reducing costs.

Key technical advantages include:

  • High-temperature cooling: Continuous stable operation at 65 degrees Celsius, maintaining 100 percent cooling output at 60℃.
  • Low-temperature heating: Over 90 percent heat output at -40℃, with 100 percent heat output maintained at -35℃.
  • Easy installation: The EVOX G³AHU ducted indoor unit features an innovative modular design, reducing installation steps by 60 percent and significantly lowering costs.

Additionally, Midea Air Conditioning showcased innovative products such as the EVOX multi-form central duct series and window heat pumps, catering to the diverse building and space requirements of the North American market. Midea also introduced dual-fuel heat pump solutions compatible with both gas and electricity, enhancing market adaptability. To promote the commercialization of heat pump technology, Midea hosted the Heat Pump Commercialization Roundtable Forum during the expo, inviting industry experts and government representatives to discuss the promotion and application of heat pump technology.

Midea Air Conditioning invited students from Orange Technical College in Orlando to the AHR Expo, where engineers from the North American R&D center introduced the latest heat pump technology. Midea also participated in the AHR official HVACR talent development panel discussion, sharing insights on the future of heat pump technology in the HVAC job market. To date, Midea has partnered with 11 vocational training schools to promote the training of heat pump technology talent, supporting the industry’s sustainable development.

Midea Kitchen and Heating showcased its comprehensive water heater product line at the expo, including electric storage, gas instant and electric instant products. This marked the official entry of Midea Kitchen and Heating’s own brand into the North American water heater market. The electric storage Sapphire series, featuring unique durability innovation technology, was a highlight of the exhibition. This series includes Midea’s exclusive rare earth magnesium rod, scale-resistant blue diamond heater, and innovative enamel inner tank coating process, significantly enhancing product lifespan and heating efficiency, backed by an eight-year warranty. The exhibition also featured the X95 full premix, C91 condensing and S81 non-condensing gas instant product lines, as well as the 18-36kW wide power range electric instant products, offering diverse hot water solutions for North American consumers.

Midea New Energy and Industrial Technology Group’s GMCC and Welling showcased their core component solutions developed for the North American market. As a system-level solution provider for HVAC core components, GMCC and Welling displayed a full range of products covering household, commercial and mobile scenarios, including scroll compressors, rotary compressors, reciprocating compressors and various high-efficiency motors. GMCC’s heat pump/air conditioning compressors utilize variable frequency and enhanced vapor injection (EVI) technology, significantly improving heating performance in cold climates. GMCC’s rotary and scroll compressors, known for their high efficiency, low noise and wide refrigerant compatibility, have become popular choices in the North American market. Welling motors demonstrated full-scenario coverage capability in the HVAC field, offering products including ECM motors, BLDC motors and PSC motors, meeting the North American market’s demand for high efficiency, reliability and miniaturization. GMCC also showcased several star products in the household and commercial refrigerator/freezer fields, recognized for their high reliability, starting capability and compact size. With the upcoming operation of the Dallas R&D center, Midea New Energy and Industrial Technology will further strengthen its localized R&D and service capabilities in the North American market, driving product innovation and technological upgrades.

Midea Building Technologies (MBT), a major business unit of Midea Group, showcased multiple innovative achievements in the HVAC field. Leveraging over 20 years of industry experience, MBT introduced several high-efficiency, energy-saving product solutions for commercial and residential spaces, committed to promoting sustainable development through technological innovation. In the commercial sector, MBT showcased its revolutionary Aqua Thermal Super Commercial ATW heat pump, which adopts advanced full DC inverter and vapor injection technology, maintaining high efficiency in extreme climate conditions while significantly reducing carbon emissions. Additionally, MBT’s V6 three-pipe heat recovery VRF system, with industry-leading cooling and heating efficiency and low noise design, has become an ideal choice for many commercial projects. In the residential sector, MBT introduced the M-Thermal Arctic ATW heat pump and ESG-INV pool heat pump, offering a wide temperature adaptation range and high-efficiency energy-saving features, providing more comfortable and eco-friendly solutions for home users.

Through this AHR Expo, Midea Group demonstrated its technological innovation and comprehensive solutions in HVAC, core components, water heaters and more, further consolidating its leadership position in the global market. At the opening ceremony, former St. Cloud Mayor Nathan Blackwell and representatives from HVAC industry leaders such as Lowe’s ProServices attended and delivered congratulatory speeches. Kissimmee Mayor Jackie Espinosa and others sent congratulatory messages. Local media outlets such as ABC and HVAC Insider conducted interviews. Nathan Blackwell stated that Midea’s presence will inject strong vitality into the local HVAC industry, driving innovation and development, and providing more training resources and excellent talent.

Zhou Zhiwen, Midea Home Air Conditioning vice president, said that the opening of the showroom is another milestone in Midea’s efforts to promote the transition to greener and more efficient heating and cooling solutions across the U.S., and it is proud to expand its influence to Florida and the entire southern region.

Innovative product display

The southern U.S. is the largest duct market in the country, accounting for 70 percent of duct applications nationwide. In the southern flagship showroom, Midea Air Conditioning showcased the EVOX series multi-form AHU duct units, suitable for single-family homes and small multi-family homes. Additionally, Midea introduced the smallest 6K duct unit and a 245mm ultra-thin high static pressure duct, further expanding the applicable space for duct units and reducing installation constraints. The showroom also featured the highest-efficiency window heat pump in North America and a multi-split system compatible with 3-ton AHU ducts, providing all-climate, all-building and all-scenario energy-saving heat pump solutions for southern households.

Technical training and industry collaboration

Continuing the comprehensive sales and service hub positioning of Midea’s flagship showrooms, the Florida showroom not only sells products and showcases heat pump technology but also offers technical training and industry collaboration. On the opening day, the showroom hosted a student team from Orange Technical College in Orlando and will provide installation and maintenance training courses for local installers and students in the future, contributing to the local industry’s talent pool.

Midea Air Conditioning adheres to the “Global Reach, Local Touch” strategy, providing customized heating and cooling solutions for different market needs and environments, precisely matching regional user demands. Midea’s all-climate heat pump solutions cover reliable operation at 65℃ high-temperature cooling and -40℃ low-temperature heating, with 100 percent cooling output at 60℃ and 100 percent heating output at -35℃. All products meet North American subsidy standards. This southern expansion is not only another effort by Midea Air Conditioning to accelerate the construction of a distribution network and comprehensive service system in the North American market but also a further practice of its globalization strategy.
