Dreamscapes LLC first piqued our interest a few months ago when it launched a mail-in recycling program for sex toys.

Now the intrepid sex toy company has taken its commitment to the environment a step further by becoming the first adult business to attain certification from The Institute for Green Business Certification (IGBC).

In order to receive its certification, Dreamscapes had to comply with environmental regulations, implement measures to save energy, water, and other materials, and pledge to prevent pollution and conserve resources. The IGBC website does not, however, provide specific benchmarks for its certification program.

Regardless of the validity of its IGBC certification, Dreamscapes has still shaken up the sex toy industry with its recycling program.

“Our Recycling Program is the first of its kind in the United States.
We were able to identify the need and work out a way how we could
help,” said Dreamscapes Vice-President Jean Kozlowski. “We encourage consumers and
businesses alike to take whatever steps they can in hopes of a better
environment for the generations of tomorrow. It may be some work in the
beginning, but its well worth the efforts.”
